  1. Frank Phillips was born in Fillmore Calif. His carrier spanned 1914-1951. In 1951 he won the Oakland 150 in his 1940 ford . He built his own cars and engines in his shop on Hwy 99 and Minturn road. He was a mechanic, owned the Ford dealership, drove his home built tow truck,and was a bee keeper. He raised his family in Chowchilla. He is truly one of the great drivers in California when you consider he drove every form of race car during a time when few survived.
