The Roamin Angels’ Cruisin’ the Pines Car Show

The Roamin Angels in Grass Valley, CA.

If you have never been to the Cruisin’ the Pines Car Show in Grass Valley, it is definitely one show you should check out next year. It is held at the beautiful Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley surrounded by tall pines. It was a 3 day event, September 6th to the 8th. Friday evening was for participants only and Saturday and Sunday were open to the public. The famous Roamin Angels Car Club goes all out for this show. There were live bands, an Art Show, pinstriping, hot wheels gravity drags, a Car Corral and all kinds of raffles and prizes. I have to say, I don’t think I’ve ever been to a car show with so many different kinds of food available. It was great! All the food booths for the fair were open, I would guess at least 20. There were Car Clubs from all over Northern California with their cars on display. The whole show was extremely well planned and organized. I remember buying a raffle ticket about 10 years ago at Hot August Nights from the Roamin Angels for a free engine to be given away at their show and I ended up not going. I can’t believe it took me so long to go but I won’t miss another one.

Here are a few of our favorite photos of the show. Enjoy!

I love flatheads!

The California Automobile Museum’s CAM Car Cruise was this past Saturday. Even with some strange August weather and a little bit of lightning, it was a great event. They blocked off the entire block on Fulton Ave. between El Camino and Marconi. There were car clubs parked in different businesses all down the street. The street was lined on both sides with a large variety of classic cars, muscle cars and hot rods. There was a large vendor area with a live band and a row of food trucks parked down the middle of the street.

One new vendor I met was Mike Kulp from Rockbot Studio. He has some really cool & creative pictures for sale.

Grand Marshall Paul Robins, from Fox40 Live, was the emcee and was seen walking around taking pictures of his favorite cars. His wife’s 1958 Morris Minor truck was on display as well as Wild Bill’s 2005 All Aluminum Panoz Esperante.

Our thanks to the California Automobile Museum for sponsoring such a great show. We are very lucky to have a museum of such quality in Northern California.
